Here is a small list of my favorite restaurants and their locations, as well as Supermarkets. I have a much more detailed list with more information that I only give to my guests :-)
Puerto de Bares:
-A Muller Mariña. The restaurant sits right at the edge of a small, concrete soccer field Everything is delicious, but you MUST try: Zamburiñas(scallops), puntillas(fried baby squid), almejas(clams), and pulpo(octopus)….MMMmmm!! https://goo.gl/maps/GRFGUkWFo1D2
-El Chiringuito de Esteiro. Good, simple, cheap.
Puerto de O Barqueiro(Closed Mondays):
-A Sobreposta. A restaurant with all glass walls, lovely views and good food.
Puerto de Espasante:
-A Trapela. Good food, although slightly pricier than other places. Also, a major drawback is that meals are not offered on the terrace, only inside, where the lighting is way too bright.
Playa de Xilloi:
Simple beach restaurant, very casual. Good food.
-La Calzada Romana. EXCELLENT “Carne a la piedra”, beef that you cook yourself on a sizzling piece of slate. DELICIOUS!
Chiringuito de San Xiao. Very good “caldeiradas”, stews. My favourite is the Ray caldeirada. Delicious!
GADIS Ortigueira. Big supermarket with everything. Open Monday-Saturday 9h-21h
CLAUDIO Espasante. Small supermarket yet also pretty complete. A bit more expensive. Open Monday-Friday 9:30h-13:30h and 17h-20h and Saturday 9:30h-13:30h
COVIRAN Loiba. Small grocery store but very well stocked and cheaper than all the rest. Open Monday-Saturday 9:30h-14h and 16h-21h And Sunday 9:30h-14h
ALIPROX O Vicedo. Well stocked local supermarket.
GADIS Viveiro. Huge! 3 times as big as Ortigueira supermarket.
BAKERY MARUJA ESPASANTE:
BEST BREAD EVER!!!
